With dozens of villagers around the berber market is the mean trading gathering for the locals. Once a week they bring what their plots of land was generous to offer them to sell it and buy what necessities they need. Spices, dry fruits as well as meat and other goods even from outside is for sale here.

Either walking, with their mules, driving, using taxis or public transport; locals reach the most important day of the week: “Souk” weekly market.

Visit this weekly market and learn about part of the Berber culture and heritage

The weekly Berber market is a social meeting too. Here friends and family members meet to socialize, congratulate each others for a newly born baby or to invite for a coming event like a wedding, circumcision or the return from Mecca after achieving Hajj.

In parralel of being a trading market, the locals find in the Souks their hairdressers or barbers, tooth pillars and herbalists. Here you can have a lamb or beef barbecue from the early morning freshly slaughted sheep or goat in the neighbouring abattoir.

As the journey to reach the weekly market is far, during this day people visit the local council for any administrative papers or a hospital nearby for a health check. It is a day of holiday for the local farmers where all the needs of the week have to realized and to get the mean supplies.
